Christina Relich is the creator and main author/illustrator of Dapple Grey Books.
Ever since she could hold a pencil, Christina has been in love with the magic of art and storytelling. As a child, her hands were constantly at work, doodling animals and writing out pages of fiction. Now, inspired by the beauty of the living world around her—along with her own imagination—she attempts to share this love of creativity and nature with children and adults alike.
Christina makes her home in Kentucky's beautiful Appalachian foothills, where she often spends her summers camping, drawing wildlife, and of course, riding horses. She is surrounded by a large, supportive family, two sweet n' sour tabby cats, and one giant softie of a black lab. After several years of homeschool and hard work, she graduated summa cum laude from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor in Animal Studies and a Minor in Art Studio. She is also a lifelong Girl Scout, reaching the rank of Gold Award Scout—equivalent to the Eagle Scout rank in Boy Scouts—for her work in her community.
In 2016, Christina originally created Dapple Grey Books as a way to raise donation money for the Friends of the Good Samaritans school through Herman to the Rescue. Now, with An Assembly of Animals on the horizon, she plans to branch out and give Dapple Grey Books its own unique identity, and prepares to welcome a growing selection of works to its roster.
